Ahead of the Paris Motor Show, BMW has released the first pictures of the Concept 6-Series Coupe.
Designed to be a "stylish and authentic expression of superior sports performance," the car is effectively a two-door version of the Concept Gran Coupe. As such, it features LED headlights, a massive twin-kidney grille, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, and 20-inch aluminum wheels.
Inside, the cabin boasts two-tone leather upholstery, wood trim, and gloss black accents. Other goodies include a 10.2-inch iDrive display, a digital instrument cluster, and a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
While the company declined to talk engine specifics, it's safe to assume power is provided by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 395 hp (294 kW / 400 PS) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm) of torque.

ciudat ca vor lansa la anul mai intii cabrio-ul in primavara si pe urma in toamna coupe-ul (care o sa arate exact ca si acest asa-zis "concept"). Ma intreb daca vor lansa mai apoi si o versiune de 6-ar coupe cu 4 usi, precum conceptul aratat parca prin primavara.
si nu stiu de ce pomeniti de Bangle, masina are un design chiar simplu si curat, nu are incarcarile alea stilistice gen Bangle.

Personal mi se pare cel mai frumos BMW din poze vazut vreodata de mine. Imi place tot, exteriorul, iar interiorul e perfect. Daca e sa ma iau dupa poze, e singura masina sport pe care mi-as dori-o , la care as visa. Nu glumesc Asta e stilul de masina care e pe sufletul meu, finisaje, muchii, arce de cerc, culori, tehnologie, materiale, tot. O sa ma uit si in realitate la ea cand o aparea de curiozitate, sa vad daca sunt diferente majore fata de senzatia data de poze.
Daca mai astepti mult nu ii mai ramane nici tabla. Si oricum nu doar tabla conteaza. Sunt o gramada de piese care merg bine pe a mea si e pacat de ele (eg. LSD). Daca as gasi un 325i pe care sa transplantez piesele maine l-as lua.

As previously seen in numerous spy photos, BMW is busy developing the next generation M6. It may not have gone according to plan so far (see here and here), but that is hardly going to calm the anticipation. So to whet your appetite a little further, here is sexy rendering by Duron Automotive Artwork.
Much of the technology found beneath the exterior of the 2013 BMW M6 comes from the current M5. Power will be generated from the same twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 power unit, although the output of 560 PS (412 kW / 552 hp) is likely going to be closer to 600 PS on the M6. Add in the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission and we should be seeing a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of less than 4.5 second and a top speed of 300kph.

BMW has officially unveiled the 6-Series Gran Coupe.
Designed to battle the Mercedes CLS, the sedan measures 4.4 inches (111 mm) longer than the 6-Series Coupe. The exterior styling is instantly recognizable but highlights include xenon headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin is luxuriously appointed with Dakota leather, heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. There's also a "4+1" seating arrangement and a boot that holds 460 liters (16.2 cubic feet) of luggage. Options include ceramic accents, GPS navigation and a Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Under the hood, three engines are available. The 640i has a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with 320 PS (235 kW / 315 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The 650i uses a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 450 PS (330 kW / 443 hp) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the car to run from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, before topping out at 250 km/h (155 mph).
Lastly, the 640d has a 3.0-liter diesel engine with 313 PS (230 kW / 309 hp) and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of torque. Despite having the least powerful engine in the lineup, the car offers respectable performance as the dash to 100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds and the top speed is 250 km/h (155 mph).
Regardless of what engine is selected, it is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is optional on the 650i.
